Title:  How to Continue After Getting Punched in the Face (By a Disaster)

As Mike Tyson stated, “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.” Have you ever considered what continuity may look like for your business or organization if you got “punched in the face” by a disaster?  A disaster can disrupt your business’s lifelines and cause initial chaos especially when it comes to continuing business with limited resources. During this session we will examine how government, private sector, and other institutions have effectively managed the continuation of business and services during disasters and what you can do to help develop continuity planning for your business and organizations.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Examine how government, private sector, and other institutions have effectively managed the continuation of business and services during disasters
  2. Explain the difference and similarities between Continuity of Operations and Business Continuity planning
  3. What you can do to help develop continuity planning for your businesses and organizations
