"What's Understood Still Needs to Be Explained: Elevating Workplace Engagement Through Communication"
Overview: This session examines how foundational communication practices directly influence workplace inclusion, from reducing misunderstandings to fostering higher engagement. We will explore the nuanced relationship between intent and impact, ways to address systemic issues rather than isolated incidents, and how concepts like "quiet firing" and job satisfaction reflect an organization's commitment to employee wellbeing. Emphasizing that comprehension is as important as communication, we will cover practical strategies to promote an inclusive and communicative workplace.
Objectives:
- Understand the role of "overcommunication" as a tool for workplace engagement and how to implement it without overwhelming teams.
- Identify how intent and impact diverge in workplace conversations and HR initiatives, and the importance of addressing both.
- Recognize signs of quiet firing, blanket punishment, and their impact on employee satisfaction.
